I'm on a old computer that I recently upgraded from XP Pro 32bit to Win7 Pro 64bit. The Motherboard and Video card and Processor support 64bit processing, so it adds to the stability. My hardware is old, from 2008 you could call it an intro-level workstations that I custom built. Q6600 Quadcroe 2.66GHz, Intel DP35 something mo-bo, QuadroFX 1500 256mb graphics card, 4GB ram (will get 8 knowing now that AE is somewhat stable). That was not rendered on my computer however, that was just an uptodate i3 iMac at school. I'm going to bring it home, I suspect that will will perform half as fast (and easily render 1/8th as long, due to Depth of field, and motion blur) It would actually kill my system 100% once it would get to rendering because it's so old. So frankly my response doesn't help.
